Late Cancellation & No-Show Policy

At A Fine Balance, we aim to:

  • Make classes accessible to everyone

  • Support our teachers

  • Keep the studio running efficiently

To help us achieve this, we have a 12-hour cancellation policy for all classes:

  • Cancel at least 12 hours before class: No fee; your class credit is returned.

  • Cancel less than 12 hours before class: £5 fee for unlimited memberships. Credit-based memberships will also lose the class credit.

  • No-show (don’t cancel and don’t attend): £10 fee for both unlimited and credit-based memberships. Credit-based memberships will also have the class credit deducted.

Please cancel through your Mindbody account (online or via the app) as we cannot process cancellations via messages or email.

Why we have fees

Encouraging Attendance
Fees are in place to help everyone attend or cancel responsibly. On unlimited passes, it can be easy to skip a class which can mean a teacher shows up and not students are there. Cancelled spaces can be offered to others, but an empty mat benefits no one.

Why Losing Class Credit Alone Isn’t Always Enough
For low-cost memberships or unlimited passes, people may be less likely to cancel. The fees encourage thoughtful booking and fairness for all members.

Mistakes Happen — We Understand
We know life can be unpredictable. Fees aren’t charged immediately. If you receive a late-cancellation and no-show email and there’s been a genuine mistake, just contact us. We will adjust if necessary.

Timing of fees

Late cancellation and no-show fees are reviewed and applied at the start of each month for the previous month, giving you time to query any errors before charges are finalised.

Keeping Fees Fair

Many studios charge £15–£20 on top of lost class credits. We keep ours much lower — enough to encourage fairness and accountability without being punitive.

Special cases

  • Courses & Workshops: Non-refundable once booked. Strictly no cancellations or refunds, as outlined in T&Cs at the time of booking.

  • 121/Private Sessions: 48-hour cancellation policy. Full fee charged if cancelled within 48 hours or for no-shows. Sessions can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice.

Arrival & lateness

  • Please arrive 5–10 minutes before class starts.

  • Late arrivals disrupt the class and won’t be allowed to join. This will be treated as a late cancellation or no-show.

Waitlist policy

  • If a class is full, you can join the waitlist.

  • If a spot becomes available, you’ll receive an email notification.

  • Being added to a class means you’ll be charged or have the credit deducted as usual.

Class changes

We may occasionally cancel or adjust classes, or substitute instructors. If you booked into a class and we cancel last minute, we will:

  • Class Pass Holders: We’ll recredit your account or refund the single class purchase.

  • Members: We’ll offer an alternative class where possible.

We are not responsible for any other costs or losses caused by schedule changes.

Refund policy

Memberships, services, or workshops paid upfront are non-refundable once purchased.
