To welcome 2023, join us for an afternoon to slow down, soften and find balance in preparation for the year ahead.
This extended 2.5 hour Yin and Yoga Nidra practice will provide the space and stillness to contemplate what you want for the year.
Many of us lead demanding and difficult lives. Our modern fast-paced yang-like culture means we are often out of balance. It promotes striving and achieving over resting and nourishing.
Our emotional and physical well-being means we need to take time to balance the opposing energies of yang (dynamic/fiery/doing) and yin (calm/cooling/passive).
Often, what we require most, is space where we can rest and release the tensions that we all carry. Through this Yin practice, we will start to redress this balance.
The Yin practice is centred around floor-based postures that are help for several minutes. The longer holds give us time to drop into the stiller, quieter, reflective nature of yin - time to slow down and look inwards. It can be remarkably rejuvenating for the body and mind.
Towards the end of the practice, we will drop deeper into the stillness that this practice offers - calming our nervous systems, so that we can leave feeling more balanced.
We will end with a 30 minute Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) practice. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent to 2 hours sleep.
Come and practice for 2.5 blissful hours. The workshop is open to every ability and level of experience.
Bring a journal in case you want to note anything that comes up.
