Yoga for Runners and Cyclists Workshop
Improve your running and cycling with yoga!
When runners and cyclists take on a training programme, they tend to focus on building endurance and speed, but improving strength and flexibility is not always seen as a priority. Not taking the time to stretch and build strength can lead to dysfunctional running and cycling postures that contribute, or even cause, common injuries.
Yoga can add a layer of safety to training – it helps to relieve stress, strain and tightness in various areas of the body. It also increases strength, which can help the body run and cycle further, longer and faster than ever before.
This workshop is designed to teach yoga techniques to support your training schedule. Join us both in-studio or via Zoom.
It will focus on exercises to support core stability, quads, hamstrings, and hip flexors, which can help you move more efficiently and reduce risk of injuries.
Additionally, holding challenging poses builds strength of mind and tenacity that will pay off on your runs and cycles. Yoga exercises will give you more than just strength, they can help build mental endurance too.
You will also learn steady breathing while holding yoga poses – perfect to implement during tough sections of your cycles or runs.
By the end of this workshop you should find more ease in the body.
