As the days grow shorter and winter’s quiet energy approaches, take time to slow down and nurture yourself with this gentle 2-hour Somatic and Restorative Yoga workshop, themed around the natural shift from autumn to winter. This practice will help you release tension, ground your energy, and find balance during the seasonal transition.

The session will start with energising Qi-Gong movements to warm up the body and create vibrations to open the energy flow.

You'll then be guided into deeply nurturing Restorative Yoga poses, where your body will be fully supported by props in long, restful poses. These positions will help you soften, especially around the hips, while your mind relaxes and unwinds.

With each breath, you’ll be invited to sink deeper into stillness, letting go of any stress or overwhelm as you transition from the busyness of autumn to the introspective calm of winter.

Day Retreat: Set intentions for 2025 with Yogic practices and time in nature including hilltop bathing (sauna, ice baths and barefoot walks)

Loose plan for the day:

Join Hannah, founder of A Fine Balance, for a day retreat to find balance at Paus in Cambridge.  Only 50 minutes drive from Dunmow and 1 hour 5 minutes from Upminster.

The day will begin with our welcome circle and yogic practices to tune into our intentions for the year ahead. The morning will focus on connecting to your wise heart-centred self to tune into what actions you need to take to find more balance and peace in 2025.

This will be followed by a stroll around the wonderful Paus grounds to experience the barefoot sensory walk to ground and connect with nature.

We will then enjoy a nourishing 3-course vegetarian lunch at the Hilltop Bistro restaurant.

Our day concludes with three wonderful hours to relax on the Hilltop Bathing area with a complimentary drink. You can bathe in the wood-fired hot tubs, enjoy the Finnish barrel saunas and take a dip in the cold pools. 

You will leave feeling a sense of balance and connection to yourself, nature and new friends. 

The retreat day is suitable for everyone from beginners to regular practitioners.
